Technology Compliance Reminders

CIESC Staff,

In our ongoing commitment to maintaining a secure and efficient IT environment, we would like to remind all employees of the following IT policies and procedures. Adhering to these guidelines is essential to safeguard our organization’s data and technology resources.

1. Virus Alerts: Promptly Notify Technology Department

If you encounter any virus alerts or suspicious activities on your technology devices, please notify the Technology Department immediately. Your swift action can help prevent potential threats and ensure the security of our network.

2. Authorized Use of Technology Equipment

Our technology equipment is designated for business purposes only. It is imperative that the equipment is utilized solely by the assigned individual. This includes refraining from sharing devices with family or household members. If there are any questions regarding the appropriateness of personal use, please consult with your supervisor.

3. Monitoring for Security and Maintenance

To ensure the ongoing security and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, we may conduct monitoring of equipment, systems, and network traffic at any time. This proactive measure is in place to identify and address potential vulnerabilities promptly.

4. Consequences of Inappropriate Use

Inappropriate use of technology exposes CIESC to various risks, including virus attacks, compromise of network systems and services, and legal issues. It is crucial for all employees to exercise diligence and discretion in their use of technology resources to mitigate these risks effectively.

5. Responsibility for Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Technology

Employees are responsible for the care and protection of the technology assigned to them. In the event of loss, damage, or theft due to neglect, individuals are accountable for the replacement costs. This responsibility underscores the importance of safeguarding our technology assets.

By adhering to these IT policies and procedures, we collectively contribute to the overall security and integrity of our organization’s IT environment. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in maintaining a secure and productive workplace.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Tech Department. Additionally, more information can be found in the IT Security procedures section of the Personnel Handbook.

Thank you for your attention and commitment to IT security!
